Description
With “menuCH-Kids”, a national survey on the nutrition of children and adolescents in Switzerland was conducted for the first time. The collected data provide a comprehensive picture of their eating habits, lifestyle, and health status. A total of 1,852 randomly selected girls (51%) and boys (49%) aged 6 to 17 participated in the study. Data were collected in six study centres located across the three main language regions of Switzerland – Bellinzona, Bern, Lausanne, Lucerne, St. Gallen, and Zurich. Data were collected using 24-hour dietary recalls (two per person), questionnaires on lifestyle and eating habits, physical measurements, and blood and urine samples. To represent the Swiss population aged 6 to 17, the collected data were statistically weighted. This means that the results are representative of the Swiss population aged 6 to 17 years.
