Im Kanton Solothurn sind unterschiedliche Religionsgemeinschaften ansässig. Öffentlich-rechtlich anerkannt sind die römisch-katholische, die evangelisch-reformierte und die christkatholische Kirche. Neben Vertreterinnen und Vertretern weiterer christlicher Konfessionen finden sich muslimische, alevitische, buddhistische und hinduistische Religionsgemeinschaften sowie Angehörige der Bahá’í und der Sikhs. Diese sind als Vereine und somit privatrechtlich organisiert.
