Im Hinblick auf die Netzfunktion und die Kriterien der Verkehrsplanung ist jede Strasse einem massgebenden Strassentyp zuzuordnen. Als Grundlage der Klassierung dienen die verkehrsplanerische Funktion der Strasse bzw. ihre Bedeutung im Strassennetz.
