In compliance with its data policy, the City of Geneva is firmly committed to an open approach to its public data, making this the norm in all relevant areas ("open data by default"). As part of the "Strategy for free access to public data in Switzerland", the City of Geneva provides its data publicly in open formats (open source) which can be read automatically with the purpose of being re-used. The City of Geneva favours an approach based on transparency and efficiency of the administration's actions, citizen participation and innovation.
