Die Eidgenössische Forschungsanstalt für Wald, Schnee und Landschaft WSL befasst sich mit der Nutzung und Gestaltung sowie dem Schutz von naturnahen und urbanen Lebensräumen. Sie erarbeitet Beiträge und Lösungen, damit der Mensch Landschaften und Wälder verantwortungsvoll nutzen und mit Naturgefahren, wie sie insbesondere in Gebirgsländern auftreten, umsichtig umgehen kann. Die WSL nimmt in diesen Forschungsgebieten einen internationalen Spitzenplatz ein und liefert Grundlagen für eine nachhaltige Umweltpolitik in der Schweiz.
